Singing Patterns

Tincuta Heinzel

Questions/comments

  • Do people sing patterns to each other, as a means of sharing or talking about them? Can they see the patterns that others sing? (i.e. without drawing / weaving them at all)
  • Can you share the slides?
  • Cultures often encode stories in song and in textiles, is it the same with singing textiles?

Barbara: Live coding languages for quilters

Karitta Christina Zellerbach and Charlie Roberts

Questions/comments

  • curious what you would you need more than svg capabilities for?
  • that’s super interesting… linking it to outside practice (not just digital quilting) […] build-your-own-onltology of quiliting, or your own design space
  • what is “quilting” in this sense? Is it a style or technique or… ?
  • would you make the quilting language or is that up to others? (I’d like to see what you’d come up with, personally)
  • did you or anyone else make a quiilt designed with barbara?

Quipocamayo

Paola Torres Núñez del Prado

Questions/comments

  • I wonder if the concept of east/west even makes sense in such a project? This is such a global creolization of ideas, also a multi-temporal one
  • Are you using capacitive or resistive sensing?
