Renardo - no sound - scynth not running

Hi,

I’m using Renardo (updated FoxDot) for the first time and can’t get any sound playing with “p1 >> pluck()”.

Following these suggestions and reinitialized Renardo and also my computer. I also checked if sclang and scsynth are running. sclang was running, scsynth not. I think that’s the problem. How do I solve this?

Activating “Renardo.start” on the SuperCollider editor results in errors related to “SynthDef” like “SynthDef volume not found”, “SynthDef makeSound not found”, “SynthDef pluck not found”, “SynthDef startSound not found”.

It’s my first time trying a live coding language and using SuperCollider.

I tried rebooting the computer at the time and it didn’t work. But now, hours later, after doing other stuff on the laptop and turning it off and on 1 or 2 times, it’s working. I don’t know what happened so I can’t detect the origin of the errors, but for now at least it’s fine.

Hey tmnplc !
There is indeed some issues depending on the order in which you launch the parts and/or the method you use (Renardo TUI, traditionnal Supercollider IDE method). Nice to hear that you found your way around that issue.
I’m tackling this and other connectivity and documentation issues in an ongoing refactoring. Hopefully it will soon be more straightforward.

I noticed that when I manually start Renardo on SuperCollider I never have trouble so that’s my solution
